Good to be home...

Well... It was a long but fun week, as I got to see a couple of people I have not since childhood.

After spending Tuesday touring the Tampa-St. Petersburg area, we hit the road late Wednesday morning. We got into the Atlanta area around 10pm. Thankfully, they left the light on for us and had a nice hot meal waiting.

We got an early start Thursday. After 14 hours on the road, we stopped in Rockford, Illinois, a town just west of Chicago. That made the last 330 miles to St. Paul a breeze, despite driving through a nasty little thunderstorm outside of Wisconsin Dells.

As I said earlier, it was great to see Mike and Diana. It had been over 30 years since I'd seen either of them. Understandably, neither of them remembered much more about me than my name. They were the youngest of the the 8 children in that large household and they weren't very old when I left. They were both very gracious hosts and allowed me my few moments of reminiscing.

By the way... St. Pete is a wonderful town. I was there once before, but only long enough to take in a ball game. I tell you, it wouldn't take much to get me to call that town home.

But if and until then, it's great to be back home.

Adios...
