Hearing the news that Bradlee Dean was taken off AM 1280 The Patriot reminded me of when I was doing a radio show in Las Vegas. Dean's arrangement was a lot like mine, in which I paid for the air time, and solicited sponsorship to offset the costs. I also know first hand, that it takes a lot to get kicked off the air in that type of arrangement.
Hell, in two years of doing "The Dawg Shift," on KLAV, in Las Vegas, in the early 2000s, we did some crazy shit. Including a live remote from an area strip club, in which we did ply by play of my co-host's wife receiving a lap dance. Fun times...
I almost feel sorry for our "misunderstood" bigoted minister. After all, The Patriot features such lunatic hosts as Mark Levin and Michael Savage. I'm sure that he felt like he fit right in.
So for now, it looks like Bradlee Dean will be relegated to spreading his hate on the internet. Apparently, a reported deal to do a similar show on KTLK-FM has fallen through, for the time being.
