The BEST thing on the inter-webs last week was Ron Butler's Spoken Word Commentary!
I found it timely and spot-on; a true encapsulation of our human experience and relationship with social networking, news and entertainment media… not-to-mention, a seemingly well-deserved indictment of them all.
Originally from the Bahamas, Ron is an actor, and former Washington DC economic consultant. Ron grew up in both the US and the Bahamas; he attended Trinity International University near Chicago, where he graduated magna cum laude, earning a B.A. in History and Economics.
Ron studied acting with Vera Katz of Howard University, and performed in regional theatre around Washington. After further study with William H. Macy, Felicity Huffman, Scott Zigler and Robert Bella, of the Atlantic Theater Company in NYC, he became a member. Ron even found time to sing with a European swing band, The Solicitors, for several years.
Ron has guest-starred in many popular network/cable television shows, and can be seen in the web series, First Day, where he plays Vice Principal Lewis. Among his most noted characters is President Barack Obama, whom he affectionately lampooned in 2010, while singing a pastiche of The Major-General's Song.
As is evidenced in this fantastic video, Ron Butler is a highly accomplished writer, and performer!
